I may try to buy one and hope I do not get trampled to death. Actually they regularly have packages that include a monitor (as this one does not)for under $400--or rather, that is at Best Buy.

Hey thanks RE the heads up on the $299 computers. I went down to Compuserve about a half-hour ahead of time, got in line, and five minutes later a cashier came along passing out a few vouchers and I got the last one. The sale also had a flat screen (not LCD) monitor for $89 with rebates and I upped the memeory to 384K next day for $19. They even had modest speakers in the box. So I have a whole brand new Windows XP 1.8MZ machine and monitor for just over $400.

Only problem was wrestling the boxes around with my broken arm, but I managed.

Hope Emachines don't break early.
