It would appear the odds are great that Saddam was killed on 3/19 in the initial attack on his compound.

Some of the FoxNews pundits have been making sound points about how Baathist leaders are bugging out with their belongings, something that would not be permitted by Saddam were he still alive. Additionally, US leadership is claiming they have surveillance footage showing Saddam's body being carried out on a stretcher.

The videos that have been released would appear to be "canned" shots of Saddam, the first of which possibly may have been filmed earlier on the day of the bombing.. The most recent one apparently has Saddam stating he will treat US POWs well..

Which begs the question.. "of all the things Saddam could say at this time, why would he give a rat's @ss about treating US POWs well???" This is obviously an attempt to create the impression that Saddam is still alive so top leadership can buy themselves some time before the society collapses around them.

Bottom line... Saddam is dead.. And the CIA/Delta Force pulled of the intelligence coup of the century....

Let's hope this was the case and that we'll be spared a battle for Baghdad.. MOUT is the last thing we want our forces to have to engage in..

Also, apparently it would seem that the 3rd Infantry has traveled at least 200-300 miles over the past two days. A reporter foolishly broke OPSEC protocols and mentioned that they were stopping for their 3rd refueling. He also, correctly, noted that commanders are loath to permit fuel levels drop below 50%..

Thus, with a typical range for an M-1 Abrams of 280 miles, divided by 2, and taking into account idling time (which increases fuel consumption on an M-1) x 3 refueling stops, we're looking at least at 200 miles, and more likely 300 miles. That's roughly 500Km.. and the following map should give you a good impression just how far they have traveled in the past couple of days. (up the western side of the Euphrates).

They should hit Al Ramadi sometime tomorrow, and commence an encircling from the west to cut off any retreat from Baghdad towards Syria.

Watching the Iraqi citizen smack the poster with a shoe was unthinkable just a month ago.
