I knew that, so that's why I was deliberately vague. As for targeting civilians, I guess you could make a case that bulldozing a house on top of a family of people is not necessarily "targeting" as there is no ordinance involved. One thing I find interesting is that when someone takes something and offers 80% of it back, that's an offer that shouldn't be refused, especially when it's 80% of what several UN resolutions (we seem to enforce the ones we like best) said should be given back. Arafat would have been killed if he'd have taken that deal, and he's a survivor first. That's not in the best interests of his people, but it's all he knows. Desperate people do desperate things. There is no black and white. Begin blew up the King David Hotel, but that's freedom fighting to some folks, terrorism to others. We could go on and on about this. I'd just like to see the settlements gone (what purpose do they serve?), the land given back, and the whole area prospering in open trade. Most conflicts arise out of economic devastation. People who have jobs and hope are less likely to be radicalized and brainwashed into blowing themselves up. Speaking of boogymen, isn't Bush doing the same thing with Saddam and Osama? Axis of Evil? We are not any different than those in the 3rd world now that we're heaping the blame for our economic malaise on these guys. It's really shrewd, as there is no other way he'd be elected in this post bubble economy. My hat's off to Karl Rove, the smartest man I've ever seen in politics. He could eat 10 James Carvilles for breakfast.
