H-Man I think you are right. He does have WMD. Of course he does. However:

1) A moron can make Mustard gas as I have pointed out. We'd be fools to think he didn't have any.

2) his bureaucracy is even more inept than ours. Duh. What kind of computer infrastructure do you think they have? Is there any doubt that their inventories are full of mistakes.

2) ANY person who has acquired power like Saddam would try to hide these weapons. That's obvious and no real reason to go to war. We let Israel slide on the UN resolutions far more than Iraq.

The inspectors were finding it little by little. We were watching them like hawks with not only spy satillites that can take picture of stuff as small as cigarettes but also U2s. Even so with all that power to watch everything in Iraq, Colin Powell could only show "evidence" that was the laughing stock of the world and probably turned much of the world against us. I felt sorry for him in a way. Bumbling fools if you ask me.

It's a red herring, everyone and anyone with any brains at all knows the true story.

<<<They declared and turned over containers of mustard gas -- Show me a link or some proof of this claim -
from a legitimate news source not one of your GWB hater sites. If true, it should be very easy.>>>

It was Associated Press articles, complete with photos, which were run on Yahoo. If you think there is anything easy about finding a particular archived AP article on Yahoo, I suggest you try your luck.

<<<The reality is that the mustard gas was "discovered" by the inspectors, not volunteered by the Iraqi's. It may
be, that these weapons were "forgotten", but the were not declared as you claim.>>>

The mustard gas was turned over almost on day one. If the inspectors had "discovered" it, it would have amounted to a smoking gun. The news made a big deal out of the UN neutralizing the gas, but it was clear from the reports they had it for several months before it was destroyed.

<<<Every weapon they have turned over since then was discovered by the inspectors, not volunteered. The
missiles you cite were claimed not to be illegal, yet the UN says they were and only after pressure did they
start to destroy these missiles.>>>

The missiles were only illegal on a technicality basis. They were strictly conventional weapons which flew in a range consistent with the UN guidelines. Iraq had every reason to believe they had a right to hold what amounts to a defensive type weapon, asked for an independent ruling, and destroyed the missiles when the ruling went against them. It was an unreasonable request in the first place and the fact they cooperated showed they were willing to do whatever was necessary to avoid war.

<<<about to provide documentation on biological weapons destruction

Uh, why did thy not do this in the first place? They certainly had plenty of time.>>>

They were never given instructions about what constituted cooperation, or what additional information the UN required. They prepared a 1,200 page report on short notice, and after 500 inspections, nothing was found to support accusations the report was false. At each new request for information by the UN, Iraq provided additional documentation. By the day before the unprovoked attack on Iraq, Blix had compiled a list of 12 remaining items to be verified by Iraq in order to show they were in compliance with UN resolutions. That was the first such list presented to Iraq in the entire 4 months. Prior to that time it amounted to a game of Bush playing "Simon Says".

<<<They claimed not to have Scuds, yet they have fired them in recent days. >>>

Recent reports show no Scuds have been fired. The first day claims of 1 or 2 Scuds (depending on which liar was telling the story) have been shown to be false.
