As someone who has supported Bush for years, I can tell you that I reject you and what you call diplomacy, and if I had my way, I would rather see you in hell than negotiate with you. I don't know of anyone who has publicly suggested the Iranians might possibly have allowed the United States to base soldiers and materiel in their country for an attack on Iraq. Maybe you could cite something to the contrary if you are aware of it. It seems to me a real stretch to suggest that Iran not providing bases to the United States military is a serious diplomatic failure on Bush's part.

But then again if Bush believed in diplomacy... Bush didn't know the name of the president of Pakistan (I think that was the country) during the campaigns if I recall, so not being fully up to speed on the political complexities of the Iran/Iraq region isn't surprising.
