One of the remarkable facts about Iraqi government that is simply not a convenient fact for the Crusaders is that the Hussein government is about 50% Christian. These are the "infidels" that you'd expect the Muslims to be harming. Yet they are very much in power in Iraq. You do recall Tariq Aziz visiting the Pope recently, right? Among the sources that you have studied for your understanding of the Middle East, I wonder if you have read the works of Sandra Mackay or Bennie Morris? My suspicion is that you may have relied on distorted and partisan tomes by the like of Bernard Lewis, instead of getting a well rounded view of what actually is going on in the Middle East. That said, I'm delighted to read that you actually have spent some time attempting to learn about the region. For those who want a brief, honest and easy to read history of "The Origins of the Palestine-Israel Conflict", I recommend this pamphlet: cactus48.com
