Well, I sure hope you are right. Arabs have sure have done a lousy job of embracing democracy in the Middle East so far. Perhaps the reason is tied to the fact that their are so many factions with extreme religious underpinnings.

germany and japan both had a history of democracy prior to the war. not so for most of the arab world.
