While there are exception, history should deserve some
credibility. The problem is, the kind of crowd it is

Perhaps, he has. But it is the faction in the administration that best feeds his vanity or his messianic visions who control him.

Isolated from reality (even from TV coverage of the Baghdad bombings) and cocooned in the comfort of his Christian beliefs, Dubya is very susceptible to blunders. His moves on the economy reveal a one-track approach to every situation - tax cuts. And his approach to foreign problems is also one-track - unilateral power and authority.

It's a precise path to perdition for this planet. As no doubt the Iraqis can testify.
