IRNA (no idea how reliable this source is) reports that the Iraqi opposition will declare an Iraqi transitional government once the coalition takes the towns of Basra and Mosul. They don't appear to be happy with the Turks throwing a monkey wrench into the northern front, either.

Hmmm, let's see. The Turks have alienated the US, the EU, and the Iraqi transitional government, all at the same time. Seems foolish to me but maybe there's a plan there that I don't understand.

Sun,
Thinking about your earlier post. If there is to be federation of three federated areas of iraq, a strong Tito like leader outside of the Baath party needs to emerge. Are there such folks in iraq? Would they come from Shiite or sunnis side? Tito was a serb and was able to include moslems and croats. Just using your comparison with yugoslavia to think this through. mike
