they use "hating this country",

Do you read Frum's article and Buchannan's? I thought Frum made a compelling case for the 'hating this country' statement and it goes far deeper than the Iraq War. I am terrified of those people, I think they would ruin the whole damn show if given a chance and I think another terror attack they might get that chance.

Is 'hating this country' some sore of special phrase never to be uttered (btw, I can find no other uterrance of Frum using that phrase despiste John's assertions). I see a world where many people, including many Americans 'hate this country'. It be a shame if that couldn't be explored. Seems important. The feeling is dominant, but fading already, where I live.

Are there other blacklisted phrases we need to know about?

Paul

not even remotely similar.

Oh, really? John posted," Frum and his allies used this mantra of their opponents "hating this country," as a line. They use it for all their opponents. It appears to simply surplant argument."

Let's assume John is right, and this is "to simply supplant argument." In that case, the "McCarthyism" charge is also "to simply supplant argument."

I hope, for your sake, this is just bombast.

No, it wasn't "Bombast," it was a valid point. And I am not sure just how to take this. You have got in the habit of chastising me for for very little lately, and ignoring the slams put at me that I leave alone. We even had a case the other day of a lurker cursing me on the thread for the second time in a week, and you made no public reference to it. At least four other posters took him to task. I let it go.

The anti-war crowd has got so hysterical that I have cut down my posts in an effort to leave them alone. I only made 22 in the last two days. I see no reason for you to keep coming after me.
