Hi Maurice, <<masks>> about 1%, but the shops are definitely all out of stock, and so I suspect that supply is not keeping up with demand.
Got to go now. Chugs, Jay

Defeat of the Apache helicopters high-tech type Longbow AH-64 a (USD15 million each, a price opf a fighter jet!!) re going to cause a change in strategy.
The Apache were supposed to plow out of the way the T-72s of the Medina division. In 1991 pilots said to have destroyed 500 tanks but in the war's aftermath the claims were cut by half. In 1999, Apaches failed miserably in Kosovo. Having not been used in combat due to its vulnerability one of them fell on a routine flight.

Expect a few days of no action which are going to say it is sandstorm, with old files played on TV to show sand being blown the sual CNN stuff. Fighter jets have to be used F16 or F16 and A10s.

Europe extends losses as war doubts grow
By Ivar Simensen in London
Published: March 25 2003 7:46 | Last Updated: March 25 2003 9:26

<< from here on is all downhill!!>>

European equity markets opened lower on Tuesday morning, extending Monday's sharp correction to the pre-war rally as coalition forces faced stiff resistance on their way to Baghdad.

The main indices traded in the red for a second session after rallying nearly 20 per cent in just over a week leading up to the war. The pan-European FTSE Eurotop 300 index dropped 0.9 per cent to 771.6, extending Monday's 4.3 per cent slump as hopes for a swift end to the war in Iraq evaporated.

Market sentiment was nervous as UK and US troops made their way towards Baghdad. The coalition forces may have to go into the streets of the Iraqi capital in order to gain control, which is likely to increase risks and casualties.

Hello Maurice, I wrote this note on the plane.

I am the only very apparent idiot in my part of the cabin who is wearing a biohazard mask. There are about five possible dim bulbs in another section.

My mask is a branded one from 3M. I know this because 3M was not satisfied with the obvious, it had printed the usage instruction on the world-facing side, in large font, bold print yet.

Yes, I am the only apparent twit on the whole plane who is wearing a branded mask with the obvious instructions printed on the outside, positioned prominently in large bold type across my face.

However, I may be the only one in my section feeling snugly comfortable to breathe deeply, without a care, and am amused debating whether I should pretend to cough uncontrollably, violently, and continuously for the 3 hour ride to Beijing:0)

Life is a series of bets, and I am figuring that this SARS mark-six lotto is one that yields no premium and pays zero dividends.

As notified to Pezz in a top-secret communication earlier, I have ordered my AUD and my CAD mechanized divisions and armored brigades to regroup into two semi-permanent occupation armies, each to establish jumbo base camps in those pacified territories and earn their keep. In other words, I have established jumbo fixed deposits in those currencies for a long stay outside of USD space.

I have also authorized the temporary disengagement of the main gold expeditionary force from their mission in TeoTwawKi land, tactically retreating to HKD space now that a quick victory against pro-council Greensputin and Viceroy Bernankaput is not imminent.

Before you decide to gloat over my temporary setback, I remind you that I have landed additional naval infantry on the gold mining beach, expanding the bridgehead advances on the Agnico Eagle and Harmony long equity plus short put/call straddles, as well as having made gains via tactical advance by closing out of previously shorted Newmont covered calls.

[EDIT: oh, oh, the passenger across the cabin just sneezed twice, probably triggering many private thoughts around the entire cabin]

I am as bullish on the Aztec NToeAwsBe gold as I ever was, but gaming strategy requires me to make some temporary tactical regrouping moves, to survive and fight another day.

I am of course also wagering that Saddam will fall, now that the war is happening, however long the supply lines, however short the public patience, however hard the pockets, however soft the spots.

Upon the actualization of Saddam's fall, the equity animal spirit may rip into the fundamental case for gold, however temporarily, until the future is again clear to the masses.

From all television reportage appearances, the end game to the 900-year conflict is definitely not at hand, and in fact may just have been exacerbated to a considerable alarming degree, just as the fundamentalists on all sides may have wished.

I must now decide whether to commit the newly augmented HKD to any additional campaign or simply give the troops a rest, allowing them to get back in tune with the tempo of the battlefield.

Chugs, Jay
