It will be interesting to see how Bush plays things after the war is over.

The list of countries who didn't go along with the U.S. stance on Iraq is long. Will Bush and Cheney "build bridges" or swagger around and try to "punish" these uncooperative nations?

Obviously the U.S.'s position in the world will be much enhanced with the strong military presence in the middle east the coming "friendly" regime in Iraq will afford. Bush and Cheney will be able to exert much more influence on the flow of mid east oil, - the life's blood of nations like China and Japan, and therefor much more influence on the world in general.

<<Similarly, the sooner world leaders recognize that our world is now a global village which needs universal and
equitable law and order, the sooner humanity can deal with its core survival issues. As the only superpower left, the United States is in the best position to fulfill this destiny. Unfortunately, sailing into the unknown takes a special kind of courage that few ever have. It is so much easier to extend the wars of the past than to change for the peace.>>>>
You are hitting the bullseye with those comments. Captain GWB was the first one to turn his Ship of State
around and try to clear the seas of black-flagged Terrorists. Whereupon over 40 other Nations joined in the pursuit. While the French and Germans captains sat safely in port, drinking wine and beer.
