Isn't it amazing? I can't stand Bush, but if the French (for example)came here to "liberate" my country, I would have to fight them. And I would certainly wave a white flag and kill the invading soldiers. I think anyone defending their home would. It is odd for an invading army to expect to be welcomed. Those who hanker back to WWII forget that they were liberating countries that had already been invaded by Germans. We are liberating Iraq from Iraqis- I fail to see how anyone could have expected all Iraqis to get behind that platform.

If you read the article you linked, they did not miss or discount it. They expected it. They have been stating this from DAY ONE. You say you would want that to happen to you if your country was invaded? You don't live in Iraq. Answer this question seriously. Would you have liked to have lived in Iraq over the last 10 years of violent repressive rule? I think not. Now you're going to suggest that they believe they are protecting the very people that they are exploiting. There is a difference between 'protecting' a country from invasion,, e.g. the bulk of the people against the invasion.(see Kuwait, 1991) and a group of thugs brutalizing and terrorizing people for their own personal gain.(See Afganistan, now Iraq.) Oh and yes, of course you wouldn't mind your child going to the school where they keep the grenades and rocket launchers stored. If someone were to attempt an invasion of the United States they wouldn't make it through South Central LA before they realized what kind of ass kicking they had in store for them. Why? Because the democratic, MAJORITY, of american people are not repressed, brutalized and exploited citizenry. Calling it a tactic does not justify it. You'd either have them surrender, stand there to be shot or somehow take up arms against Sadaam I suppose? I realize this isn't your quote. But I just wanted to say... YES!!!! They are outgunned, and they will lose and die, they are not going to be exploited or harmed. If they simply give up, turn things around they will be rewarded with everything they could imagine. Peace, liberty, wealth... what are they afraid of? Their own people.
