You are awfully quick to conclude that this is not all carefully orchestrated on the part of both the US and UK.

"I don't think basic American policy will change," said Zalman Shoval, a former ambassador to Washington. "And we think Blair is realistic enough to realise that every time someone tries to set a fixed timetable it blows up in their face. He won't want to push this too far."<<

I think the Israelis had better rethink their analysis.. The more the "Arab street" rallies against this war, the more pressure the US will be required to place upon Israel to settle the Palestinian problem and restore regional goodwill towards us. In fact, it will be IMPERATIVE.

But I still believe it's going to require the demise of Hamas and a pledge of Israelis security. With Iraq out of the way, and Syria "humbled", the Israelis will have little rationale for claiming a viable threat exists against them..

Re: Again, no doubt that Bushies will silence Blair.

I guess you meant "Sharonites".... Remember, Ariel Sharon --Israel's biggest rancher-- has yet to make it to Crawford, TX... So far, after more than a dozen trips to the US, the Israeli PM hasn't been invited to Bush's homestead.
