Yes, cancers are difficult, some impossible to eradicate.

Some do recur.

But to not attempt to eradicate it is to give in to death.

My brother was diagnosed with lymph cancer about 12 years ago.

He underwent chemo for about 7 months and he's been fine ever since.

What "caused" it? Who f*cking knows. If we hadn't treated him he'd be dead.

We did, and he's not.

That's all that really matters.

Every situation is different, and implied parallels are pointless.
