We would not do ANYTHING that would imperil the profitability of our friends. The US government does not want to be IN the oil business, just have its friends running it, making a profit and contributing to party coffers and rewarding us in many and sundry unrecorded ways. "People selling this stuff know where it's going" Of course. But they will go out of their way to make sure there is no trace of that knowledge recorded anywhere. Then there are the public presentations of those motivations! They look a little different! "(with a significant weight on TERRORISM)" terrorism is part of the public presentation. You may remember that about a week ago a senior official in charge of Homeland Security terrorism control resigned for the reason that he felt the war was taking away genuine efforts to deal with real terrorism.
