Powell recognizes all of this. And IMO he has decided to fight this now instead of later.

Did everyone here see the germ-warfare expert on Saddam's staff? She got her PHD from the University of Missouri.

Why not stop AIDING both sides altogether? Think about it. Our hard-earned tax dollars are going to a bunch of camel-jockeys in Israel and Egypt. WHY?

The anti-war people on this thread have no ability to see past the daisies in their navels.

And the pro-war people can't get past their gonads.

It's not rocket science to look at the location of settlements over time and conclude that the Israelis intend and always have intended to annex the occupied territories. It's not rocket science to see how the Palestinian have been "relocated" into a cattle car section of the occupied terroritories.

There's no way that Sharon wants to see terrorism end. Terrorism allows the continued expansion of settlements, and the more Palestinian if less space. And Israel keeps the Palestinian death toll roughly 3 times the Israeli death toll. It enables progress towards the annexation of the occupied territories. That is Sharon's non-negotiable position.

Gosh
I wish you could have told Cheney that, since he expected the Arab people in Iraq to welcome us. They have been less than welcoming so far. And after we've "won" they will still hate us, and we will either have to reconstruct them with our tax dollars(as they continue to hate us) or leave their country a crater (and a monument to our unrealistic ambitions and broken promises). I'd call it a lose/lose situation. Thank you Governor Bush.

For the Arab people in Iraq Saddam is the devil they know, and we are the foreign anti-muslim devil they don't know. To anyone who has read anything about the ME I would have thought it would be obvious what would happen once we invaded without a mandate from the rest of the world, and against the wishes of most of the people of the Arab nations.
