Now I understand. Pres Clinton's constant polls were valid but the current polls mean nothing. Got it.....silly me.

Actually. Bush Sr. was polling at 90%+ during and after the first Gulf War. He was polling in the mid 30%s by the time the election occurred in November, 1992. Therefore he lost. Of course, the first Gulf War went very well for the U.S. It remains to be seen if this war against Iraq will go as well.
