I still think they'll dump the Marxist/Leninist anti-American left and thus survive-but parties move slowly. They'll take a full hit in the keister in 2004 before they wise up. Then it's a slow climb back.

Losing (and forgetting) the Moynihans really kills them-and they're CLUELESS about it all...

Cheney did indeed insist upon 1300 new polluting power plants. Not a single mention of clean alternative fuels. And worse, he wanted the US taxpayers to pay for them all and the contracts would go to Halliburton and Duke, two in his family of closest friends. In essence Cheney totally lied. He told us the phony energy crisis was just free market forces working. They were anything but. It was a fix all the way and Cheney knew it. This is why he hid his energy papers from prosecutors. He knew it would shatter any trust people have in him and possibly bring down the Bush administration. 100 billion ripoff is HUGE. Makes Watergate look like a molehill.
