Did you think the conservative media has special cameras that made dead bodies look like a celebration.

The difference is in the presentation. Just as your thinking has been shaped by the media to lead you to assume the missle in the market was a US one, others are duped as well.

The Pentagon has admitted there have been errant missiles. Missiles have gone astray and hit unintended places in Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Why is it a stretch for you to believe that a missile intended say for the Ministry of Communications hits a market place in a poor neighborhood by accident?

FOX is reasonably careful to make it clear that there is no determination that the destruction was caused by an American munition.

That's right.....so did CNBC. I made the leap of faith, not the media. However, it was not a big leap.

You are not protecting our future if the rest of the world sees this as a slaughtering of Saddam and his people.

Well, I'm not so sure. The escalation of anti-Americanism began with Carter's allowing Iran to walk on the United States.

Was it then or when the US fought a losing war in Vietnam or when the US gave Saddam assistance in developing WMD or when we left the Iraqi Shiites out to dry in 1991 or any of the other numerous meddlings into the sovereignty of other nations we have done over the past 100 years in the name of God and freedom. We have a big nose and we stick it everywhere. However, this one is the most audacious sticking we have ever done. It smacks big time of hubris so we are in very dangerous territory.

But if you saw Friedman's special this week, I think he really gets to the bottom of it. It is about Jealosy; it is about dignity.

Yeah, there's jealousy but mostly anger, indignation and fear.

And our taking out Saddam will, eventually, be seen as us bringing dignity back to an Arab nation.

Dignity? To whom? Once again you're getting all gooey and silly. Why do you think Rummy and his gang are being so careful with civilian dead? They know we will catch shit for this war and they are trying to minimize that shit. We will be lucky if we look like saints to our allies let alone the Muslim world.

And let me remind you......how long has it been that we've been in Afghanistan...one year, two years...somewhere in between. Wasn't getting rid of the Taliban supposed to be a cakewalk? Drop some of those precision bombs; minimum American casualties. The people hate them; they will rise against them and our job will be that much easier. Well, its one/two years later and two Americans were killed this weekend by guess who......the Taliban. Two more died this past December. BTW who do you think is paying for that war.......the tooth fairy?

Your heart is in the right place and you mean well but you've been sucked in lock, stock and barrel. You really have got to stop listening to the GOP spin. They either don't know what they are talking about, or they're intentionally misleading you.

These wars could well be our undoing in a world that considers us the ultimate enemy.
