You thought wrong.... Germany's got no veto power... and all the French gesticulations didn't stop the US from waging the war anyway... and even if France had supported the war, the US military behemoth wouldn't have needed --and still doesn't need-- military help from the French... However, Turkey's refusal to host 62,000 troops, as retired Gen. W. Clark said, will directly and significantly impact the US strategy and, possibly, the outcome of the war itself.
