if the oil producers started insisting on gold Dinars

That I would love to see, but even payment in Euros will be a seismic shift.

ditto what LurqMan said (sometimes I think we are shadows)
seismic shift is right
imagine it?
you probably have not been reading these threads for months
but I have been talking about it since spring 2002
I think the end result is gold for oil
the interim step is euros for oil

when that happens, expect major major political ramifications
European leaders will "feel their oats", as my mother used to say
they will public attempt to shut down American voices

the transition must first work within the paper world
and within a western world currency
then when the euro fails to work to Arab oil producers benefit in the marketplace, market forces then dictate a new shift to a rising currency

by that time, only gold will be rising
since the dollar, euro, yen will have established a rocky tumultuous path like a churning sea
Arabs will want to avoid it
who knows?
by then they might hate Europeans also
