You make good points and maybe I'm an idealist. However, if you know a 9/11 victim, you know we need to try to do this job. It was expensive to get rid of Hitler, but we did it.

Nobody else is going to do it. France?

We may not be popular and there were many who supported Hitler and, even today, deny the holocaust. But we were right then and we will be proven right today.

BTW, there is enough pork in that budget to support the war and get rid of the drunks. First we have to get rid of our politicians. Hmmmm Maybe we need to send some Marines to DC. Seriously though, our crooked politicians just steal from us. Sadaam and his kids and his buds KILL those who disagree with them. It's been estimated that he's killed over a million of his own citizens. That's in addition to the estimated 2 million Iraqi and Iranian deaths during 1980-1988.

BTW, if I were in Iraq, I'd be on the hit list for what I included in my previous paragraph. Think about it.

"I'd rather see the illegal aliens that drive drunk with no license and insurance be kicked out of the US than an abstract thought of ridding the world of evil.
Just ain't our job..

Speaking of the power you are talking about, the house is talking right now about $75 billion for the war.
Seems a little expensive to me, when there are so many other things that kind of money could used for.."

---------------

Our borders are open because the folks that past through them represent votes and votes equate to power...for both parties. It is and will remain a fact of this great American life that we are damn lucky to enjoy.

(Big four-car pileup here last Sat. night, drunk driver, no insurance, revoked license. 3 died, 3 still hanging on at hospital. Some were members of our church. The drunk was a terminal wasteoid and 100% American citizen).

1. The idea that Saddam being evil is abstract? Not our job? Who's job is it? Would Saddam's containment continue indefinitely?

2. $75 billion is a lot of $$$. What value, what is it worth, to the world (the Iraqi people) to eliminate the dictator Saddam?

What are the worthwhile priorities for America? Worthwhile to who and why?

Comparisions to Vietnam...how so?

I have so many questions.

War appalls us, but there is a time to fight. In the end it I believe that this will be viewed as one of those times.

There are always contrasting opinions.
