I think I conceded as much when I said I will rather kill another man than to see my own family dead. Like I said, it is a matter of degrees to which you are willing to trade other people's lives for.

Aside from the degree of disregard for other lives, there is another difference between what I said and what you are suggesting. Medical triage is designed to save the most number of lives based on how chances of each patient. It does not look at the life history of each person. If it did, then it was implicitly saying one person was more human than another.
