Kevin I think that your view is pretty accurate in regards to the center. I would say that the current Republicans having rid themselves of the Buchannan right wing have positioned themselves around that center you describe. I see the Republicans as very similar to what the Democrats used to be under JFK. The Democrats on the other hand have put Pelosi and her type in charge and she is as extreme as any right winger that the left wants to be bring up. The Democrats have been shooting themselves in the foot. Even Hillary has the political sense to not sound like Pelosi Sharpton and the rest of that clan. That Al Sharpton can even be considered a candidate is no different than the republicans running David Duke. Main stream America particularly see that. They see the Democrats terrified to offend the black vote and thus allowing a declared racist to run for their party ticket. They see the Democrat leftists siding with Saddam while our troops risk their lives. They see the liberal Democrat professors calling for the death of our troops. They lost the Senate and they won't be getting it back even if the economy is bad. The Democrats have nothing to offer except for taxes and bureaucracy and global warming. Yes Kyoto was really going to improve the economy of the rest of the world at our expense.
