Military analysts believe that today and tomorrow will decide the outcome of the attack on Baghdad that begun two days ago. If the coalition forces fail to break the Iraqi defenses, then by the weekend the US will be forced to curtail all attacks and to resort to positional warfare while regrouping forces and integrating them with the fresh divisions arriving from the US and Europe.

Frankly, this is total bull$hit...I don't expect them to attempt to "attack Bagdad" for at least a week or two. We need to consolidate the gains we've made already and stabilize and support supply lines. They may even wanna move a battalion or two to the north of town to cut off lines of retreat. All of this takes time. Maybe something was lost in translation, or maybe the author is an ex-hack for Pravda with an agenda....<NG>

That said, I don't buy the version we're being fed by CNN and CBS, either....

as much as i hate this war, i hope these reports aren't true. we are really really f'ed if a bunch of half-naked underfed arms-embargoed untechnologified nomads can truly cause this much trouble for us. the world is watching, if this doesn't end soon we'll have lost all ability to indimidate anyone.

we never should have let the serbian army walk out of kosovo. that was the first solid hint that it was possible to survive these barrages of precision munitions.
