Our forces now at the main Baghdad airport , perhaps equivalent to taking LAX
I assume Saddam and his family will not be leaving town by air
Information from the usual informed sources (FOX news) say Iraqis are planning to blow up bridges and shell Shite sections in the city and blame it on the US.

Task Force 3-69 Armor

LB,
That seems odd to me. I'll have to check it out.
The 69th Armor was attached to the 4th Infantry Div in Nam and still trains with them.

I am certain that was the plan for this OP too. I know and still have regular contact with some guys in the 69th Armor assn who fought with us at Ben Het. I was certain the tanks on the 30 ships off Turkey were 69th Armor's.

I believe we will hear about the 69th Armor as the 4th ID gets their Bradleys and tanks rolling.

I suppose the 69th could have been divided between the 4th and the 3rd Infantry Divisions.

BTW my step-bro is a Bradley Platoon Sergeant in the 4th ID. He should be arriving in country today to join my niece who is with forward USMC units as a commmunicator and my nephew who is a USAF captain. The niece was promoted to Sergeant 2 days ago. She is 62 inches tall, was honor grad of her platoon in Parris Island and routinely carries combat loads more than her own weight.

We have some rough tough ladies in our combat units.

Just a comment on your's about Jessica Lynch. If any of what is being reported is confirmed, I would bet she gets a Purple Heart and Silver Star very soon as an interim award while consideration is given to a DSC or MOH. The MOH, IMO will take a bit more than what has been reported so far.

I am really pleased with the way these supply types and remington raiders performed under fire. Says tons about their training and readiness levels. Which in turn speaks highly of our NCO and junior officer corps.

Michael Kelly has been to war before. And he can write about it.

No doubt about it. But his ideological convictions not only get in his way but have lost him a readership. He can no longer be trusted to report, honestly, what he sees and hears.

I read him fairly seriously until the past couple of years. Now, if I wish to know something, seriously, about the progress of the war, I read Michael Gordon at the Times, Atkinson at the Post, Galloway (forget just which paper he reports for).
