Not bad for a group of 50+ framers. BTW - one of the reasons why it is "minimal" is that the greater the level of embelishment, the greater the dischord that arose. So, in effect, the presence of a large group of strong opinions force them to KISS (keep it simple, stupid).

So don't write the EU constitution off. But also be aware that the time to achieve a consensus is an exponential function of the number of people involved in the consensus.

As for the conciseness of the Constitution - 200 years later and we still have perpetual arguments about how it should be interpreted ;-)
