What's the population of Iraq? 25 million? It's hard to believe that any company would want the potentially negative press that comes with attempting to directly benefit from a controversial war. Marketing. There could be some reasons why NOK et al have been able to do well despite perhaps not having all the bells and whistles. It would be interesting to see what an ad campaign might look like for American made CDMA phones in a post war Iraq (and the various consumer responses). Probably be some type of humanitarian aid--'free' CDMA phones. Then again, it could be NOK folks who seem to be drawing everyone's attention to this event to embarrass QCOM. Anyone ever play the game, Risk? Guess Q is still looking for more footholds around the world. Someone please give Jeff Jacobs (VP Global Biz Dev) a call...maybe he can help clarify...then again, maybe he can't. - g -
