Gen.Brooks at Centcom briefing actually put out some cautionary statements 1) the fighting is not over by any stretch of the imagination 2) in response to reporters inquiring "are the republican guard gone" said they are out there, but they may have interdispersed into Baghdad.
My read, they are going guerilla.
I have to sigh when they say they are hiding weapons in residential homes; cripes the enemy is going to do one of 2 things, come out with white flags or doing anything to survive and to do that they must break up and go guerilla.
Brooks says they are forces within Baghdad that intend to fight.
I expect Delta Force is now in Baghdad and commencing their singular mission go after Saddam(dead alive or zombie:) and others at the top of the regime.
I seriously doubt Delta Force has uniforms or military haircuts and would not be surprised if they were recruited on basis of looking mid-eastern--this the super secret special forces.Max
