Hi thames_sider, if all the US was interested in was killing people -- then it has the means to do it on a vast scale -- for a fraction of what its costing them now. But apparently they aren't. So your crack of "Let's test out these in a war and see how many innocents they kill" is inappropriate.

I suppose you're partial to the way the Iraqis are testing their use of women and children human shields ? I didn't think so.

My post wasn't "for or against" weapons. It was simply an opinion of why they choose to use certain types of munitions. I certainly wasn't condoning their use.

A patently ignorant comment. Great effort has been taken to use the munitions appropriate to the target. A war of this scale which has killed as few noncombatants as it has, (particularly amazing since the Iraqi regime has shielded themselves with humans) is truly amazing. On the other hand, cluster bombs are for military targets and they are effective. War is hell!
