PCSTEL: The release does not say Qualcomm is on board with the plan, just that they stand to retain some portion of the remaining 33% Thermo doesnt assume.

Looks like the Bonds were not such a great idea.

What value does this deal give the bonds? The deal values the whole company at $82MM and all debt worth $27MM. Do you know the total applicable debt - Loral, QCOM and bondholders?

Intuitively, this may make sense. Businesses are typically only as valuable as their customer bases. IRIDIUM & Globalstar have about the same number of subs, although IRIDIUM has more capital in the air and a govt contract. Future potential may not come into play during the BK valuation (unless there is some evidence to support it).
