I have always loathed suicide bombers, or any anonymous bomber who targeted the innocent or defenseless, all to make a political statement. Hell, any bomber that attacks others to further their political view, is positively disgusting, whether they be Arab, Irish, or homegrown North American, like ol' Timothy who decided to change the landscape of Oklahoma. What I'm torn with now, is wanting to support the position spouted on the networks, attempting to put forward the idea of unfair play by some Iraqi's who would dare give their life to protect their homeland by wrapping themselves with explosives, or God forbid, raise a white flag and then raise arms against the invaders. But I cannot. It isn't nice I agree, quite against the rules that we have come to expect. My problem is justifying the logic of sending an overwhelming force, the most formidable the world that has ever seen....... dropping smart bombs, cluster bombs, any freaking kind of bomb that you can imagine, some that you cannot, all from 40,000 feet, while having the pilots exclaim "wow, what a light show", "what a rush", while we sit glued to the TV witnessing the devastating destruction of innocent non combatants. This I should be proud of? I cannot. What's wrong with my thinking? This is more honorable? This is how it should be? This is righteous? This is what we have come to expect from the land of the brave? I ask myself, what would happen if the US was invaded and terribly bombed for two weeks? What would be the reaction? Would the massive store of chemical, biological weapons be used? Would nuclear explosives be used? I'm thinking yes, anything to protect the homeland. So why is it bad for Iraq to use what they have......people. Where are the WMD? Do any of us, other than GWB know that they have them? Why haven't they used them? I am humbled by my incomprehension.
