No, I've been a Democrat my entire life. I just want our party to have the best chance of recapturing the White House in 2004. And I don't think a Northeastern Liberal like John Kerry gives us the best chance. The last two Democratic Presidents were Southern moderates. JFK barely won 43 years ago, with a huge name and lots of money and a little help from the mob. I honestly believe a Southern moderate like John Edwards holds the right creditials for putting together a campaign that can win enough electoral votes to recapture the White House. While John Kerry will come up short. Look at how middle America is reacting to Kerry's "regime change" comments. Kerry will have a very hard time convincing moderates and conservatives in the South and Midwest to support his campaign. Perhaps he could write off the South, but he definitely needs the Midwest if he's going to win. Be realistic. Kerry is a longshot at best to win the Presidency. I know people like you and me would be happy to see John Kerry in the White House. But, think about all the conservative Yahoos that you come across on a thread like this who would never vote for a liberal like Kerry. And these are the educated conservatives. For each one that posts on Yahoo, there's probably 100 more who don't know squat and will just pull the lever for Bush in 2004 out of blind patriotism and indoctrination.
