Did you read the article I linked? It completely refutes the argument you are making, that we urged the Kurds to rise up and then abandoned them.

But I am tired of Communists being the excuse for everything. It is the mirror image of American as the source of all evil. I don't buy either image...kinda reminds me of that quote from the Soviet journalist in US.

The USSR was thoroughly evil. For generations, people disappeared into the night. They had a country within a country where tens of millions of their citizens were starved, worked and tortured to death. Not keeping your mouth shut was suicidal behavior. Judges would announce verdicts in accordance with the phone call they would receive from the local Party bosses. It was - literally - a superpower run by a few thugs. We are just plain lucky that they never had another Stalin take power, or else the Cuban crisis would have ended differently. Communism was no joke.
