I assumed when people spoke about peace that meant they would not look the other way when people are tortured and killed.

One can respect the ideal of any peace movement , and especially that liberty that stands behind the free expression of one also ..

it is easy to post pictures of some terrible bloody war casualty and even though it tears at your heart , it is far more difficult to seek to reveal the more secretly long drawn out hidden tortures , oppressions and abuses that are not so easily photographed , though they have taken place over long periods of time under the oppressive hand of some cruel regime as Saddams.

It would be foolish to assume that hatred for an administration and all the conspiracy theories of the past become fodder for people so moved truely by the condition of their own ennui and boredom , to suddenly become so self "aware" & "energized" to that fact , that there is injustice in the world ...and then finally find the cause to act .

The term human nature is a vast one isn't it Sojourn? And then again it can be so shallow...

simplicity is often a goodness .

So what are you doing about the people tortured and killed in China? In the former USSR? In our "allied" countries? In South Korea? In Singapore? I'm guessing you are doing nothing, but please let me know if you are doing something. If you aren't doing anything, I have a suggestion for you- Amnesty International- because they actually care about people being killed and tortured. They aren't just interested in people in one country, whose pain might justify military action, and more killing. They care about death and torture for much purer motives.
