We were promised mobs of suicide operatives when troops started going into the ME, when the war started, and when we got near Baghdad. Where are they? Suppose the US, after defeating Saddam, announces there will be 1 or 2 years of occupation while we repair war damage and set up a democratic gov't, then Iraq will be on its own but will continue to get aid from us? Know something? I think most of the people over there would rather have a decent gov't and a decent living than kill Americans. Given the opportunity to get decent gov't and living, they will take it and forget about screwing us. The French? The French are not our allies. It's time to drop any pretense to the contrary. They haven't been for 40 years.
