My intended point was that smoke-free restaurants are a blessing that would not have happened without the laws. End justifying means? Who knows. I know I'm glad that people like me with a;lergies can now go to restaurants without being sickened from smoke, although perfume is still a problem. Being a forced recluse is a bitch. I don't think the reprieve from smoke could have happened any other way. You're probably not old enough to remember spittoons. Geez, I'm glad they got rid of those, too.
