Mr. Mark,

Did what you suggested and there were no checks in Properties box. Went into Norton SystemWorks and everything is fine with my files, hard disk etc. Looked for deleted files and nothing showed up there. Did a file find search in Windows looking for *.doc files and the only ones are the new ones in My Documents folder. Could the Word file extensions somehow get changed to something else not recognized by Word?

Would it be prudent to reload MS Word on top of this one to see if anything changes? Am at a loss what to do. Thanks anyway for your help.
