Bush is not running the war, Rumsfield, Cheney and Franks are. Bush doesn't know the first thing about military affairs except what these guys teach him or he reads in a SGT ROCK comic book. If one were to accept your argument then every presdient would just start a war prior to election time and make it illegal to criticize him because he's the "command in chief". There's always some easy to beat dictator on earth one could make an excuse to attack. I hear the right-wing radio hosts today attacking every Democrat who ever criticized a war calling the "traitors". These chickenhawks have never tasted war, they just express righteous indignation against anyone who questions Bush so as to try and keep the American public from realizing he;'s the worst economic presdient since Hoover and AWOL on every isue but his "war". Bush will try to keeop this "war" going on forever because it helps him politically. I bet you're hoping Bush attacks some other country before the 2004 election so you can call anyone fighting against Bush a traitor. As Kerry succinctly put it today, there was an election right in the middle of the Vietnam War and nobody in the GOP ever claimed executive privilege not to be criticized. In this way, Nixon was a far better braver man than Bush. Bush is a chickenhawk extraordinaire hiding behind 9-11 and wars and failing America. Hiding behind national tragedies and the lives of our fighting forces. When he went AWOL when it was his turn to fight. What a sneaky scumbag.
