Unfortunately, politics is no longer about the man (or woman). It is about the party, the message, the appearance, the branding. We live in an age where image is everything, and the image makers are king.

So, if the Democrats can find someone 'flashy' enough, who captures the patriotism angle but can effectively mix in the compassion and economy, they might have a chance. But, doesn't look like a good chance.
