It seems when we perform poorly as in Mogadishu we motivate them and when we perform superbly we motivate them.

What you are hearing from Jacob is what I refer to as the "Standard Liberal Foreign Policy line."

They see other counties as "Petulant Babies," who can kick, cry, and scream all they want. They see the USA as the world's Nanny, who must be patient, and put up with these petulant babies, and never get cross with them or spank them.

The days when this kind of thinking ruled, are over forever.

Let the newly motivated come running to Iraq to support Saddam. If the Marines dont send them to Allah the liberated Iraqi's will soon be in a position to do so.

Yep, let's hope we permit Syria, Jordan et al, to open up the borders to the Jihadis ....

Once they've been sent to meet their virgins, people who truly desire and support peace may once again have it.

Right.

Violence begets violence.

When we use violence to achieve our national goals, we elicit violence against us, no matter whether we win or lose the battles.

Perhaps, then, violence is not the best tool to use, or at least not use exclusively, to achieve our national goals.

Perhaps a division of Abrams tanks is not the best tool to promote democracy and peace.
