"Withdrawing from the UN would be a mistake, IMO. As cynical as we all are about the UN, it still is better to have some common international forum than none.".

I unequivocally disagree. In the aftermath of this campaign in Iraq, France should get NOTHING of economic benefit or political influence from its outcome. Let them take their self-serving socialist agenda and stick it where it can't harm anyone else. Germany and Russia should get next to nothing. And as for the UN, isn't it obvious by now that they need the US a whole heck of a lot more than we will ever need them? Again I ask, what has the UN done for us lately, to our benefit? We cater to every whim of that so called world forum and what do we get in return - a kick in the groin. No, it's way past time for withdrawal. But it will never happen.
