When I expressed some apprehension earlier about staging the initial raid into Baghdad, my worry was that U.S. forces would need to rest, and give the Iraqis time to (finally) start building up their defenses. But tho they've run men and machines pretty hard, there's clearly not much resting going on. They're striking while the iron is hot and taking advantage of enemy weakness and confusion with devastating effect. Really a remarkable performance by the military under nasty conditions.

MILITARY ANALYSIS

The Iraqis have had months if not years to prepare for this though. Maybe the "bunker busters" and special forces have confused the situation a little.

I hope it goes well for the coalition forces.
