Loons have beautiful voices. I spent a few weeks in New Hampshire once, on the shores of a lake whose loons were being actively protected by some fish & wildlife agency of the state. They used to sing us to sleep at night. And while some seemed to swim left, others swam right. One of the few things they have in common with humans. <g>
