I think there is a difference between a house and a place of public accommodation. I feel more strongly about it when you are talking about workplaces, because jobs form people's livelihoods while bars are simply places (amongst many other places) of entertainment.

bars and clubs are against smoking bans based on liquor sales.

For some odd reason people like to smoke when they drink and they find that the majority of their clientele is outside smoking and not buying drinks
