Dear Mr. Paul:

Hogwash.

>>>$3.2 billion for an airline bailout<<< Let the airlines fail. We can go back to covered wagons.

>>>$125 million for congressional security, to make sure members are safe even if the country is not<<<

Who really cares about the protection of the U. S. Capitol Building, the most important American Symbol in the world. This funding is for the U. S. Capitol Police.

>>>$11 million for salaries and expenses for the House of Representatives, who already approved a pay raise for themselves last fall;<<<

No problem there Mr. Paul, cut your staff and give up the money you are getting.

>>>$69 million for something called the Bill Emerson Humanitarian Trust<<<

OK, Mr. Paul, here goes. The fund is feeding the Iraqi children. Remember them? Yeah, we beat their ass, we will steal the oil, we might as well feed them a little grain. Here you are.

fas.usda.gov

>>>$6.8 million for the Congressional Research Service and General Accounting Office;<<<

Well, Pauly boy. You know these two agencies conduct studies for you.

mpp.org

If you stop requesting those agencies to do work, we can cut their budget. So, Pauly boy, how about terminating that request and all the other wasteful requests of yours.

>>>$1 billion in "economic assistance" for Turkey, even though they refused to let America use its bases to stage our assault on Iraq and have only grudgingly allowed use of its airspace;<<<

Why not turn on one of our closest allies. We have new Europe, right.

>>>$170 million to train the "Afghan National Army";<<<

OK, we will just keep our troops there forever. I bet you voted for this policy. By the way Pauly Boy, did you know the French are side-by-side with our troops training the army?

>>>Dr. Ron Paul is a Republican member of Congress from Texas.<<<

I guess that explains your dumb press release. But it plays well to those that know little and read less.

I went back to check on Mr. Paul's activities during the two years of the 107th Congress. The single item I viewed was effectiveness at moving sponsored legislation through Congress.

During the 107th Congress, the Library of Congress (LOC) reports that Mr. Paul individually sponsored 64 pieces of legislation. Of those 64 pieces of legislation, the LOC reports that 63 were not reported out of any committee. The LOC shows that only one piece of his legislation was voted on and passed by the House. That was a resolution "Recognizing the important relationship between the United States and Mexico."

Feel free to check my analysis.
