How long can the businesses hold out Reminds me of Foot and Mouth in the UK. On tail of Mad Cow Disease. Not allowed to walk anywhere. Much relief now that phase is over. Expect rally when relief comes. Businesses adapt as you know :-) Here in Scotland, nice sunny day. Clyde and the mountains look stunningly beautiful. View nice, but does not provide much sustainment though.

Jay, what is the basis for thinking a SARS vaccine will take 5 years to develop? while the impact on HK is obvious, if SARS is bad enough to devastate HK for 5 years, it is hard to believe the rest of the world is that far behind. i have been reading the series of books by Suzuki Koji on which the movie "The Ring" is based. the books are nothing like the movie. it is about a virus that takes over the world. i started reading them before SARS came out, so the disease strikes me with a strange sense of forboding.

Taksin Thai PM off THB1Million to anyone's family of whom dies of SARS. That's about 15.000 British Pounds. He wants to prove that Thailand is safe to come in. I got sore throat, went to doc to see if my family would be eligible in the near future for the THB1Million but came back relieved: It is only a pharyngitis. Told girl who tend my pool table no more kiss when I win a game until I am health again. Most of the time I lose anyway.
