Dave > Starting from nothing Fox News is now the leading cable network news outlet. They have more viewers than CNBC, MSNBC, CNN. They must be doing something right

We don't get Fox here but I'm certainly familiar with Rupert Murdoch, its owner. He is probably the most brilliant media "operator" in the world and, from relatively humble beginnings in Australia (although his father was Knighted and he went to Oxford University in the UK), he took over the press in Sydney, then most of the UK press and now, as an American citizen, a great deal of the US media. As you suggest, there's no doubt that he understands his "target market" in the US.

Besides his incredible success in media, he is also very right wing and, in fact, is the covert link between the Republican Party and Tony Blair who, ostensibly, heads a left-wing, socialist party. That link is that he funded Blair's election campaign, which gives one some insight into Tony Blair's character --- the expression, "Judas", comes to mind.

>I disagree with this statement entirely. It is an opinion that can be refuted many times over

Yes, I know you disagree with that statement but I posted the piece because I found it in an Israeli publication, so you can't say it's from an anti-American source, like you may consider Russia, Germany or France. I wanted you to read it because you may not see such criticism from within the US and it is a way that many in the world do perceive America.

Here's another article, which you may not like, but which I agree with. In fact, "Wolfowitz of Arabia" is considered by many to be one of those responsible for the current American warlike disposition --- hence his amusing and appropriate nickname.

>>>Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and the other administration hawks are thrilled with US hawkishness.

When Wolfowitz of Arabia was on Meet The Press on Sunday, his watching aides were high-fiving their boss' performance.

As American forces made their first armoured thrusts into Baghdad, visions of a strike on Damascus danced in the hawks' heads.<<<
