Hawk,
DOS historically has had a pro arab, anti israeli bias. That pro arab bias seems has little to do with what benefits the arab people and more to do with a pro-arab regime bias with far too much concern for the views of the so-called arab street(see my last post) in order to mollify that street.
Yes you are right Hawk. It is a tough job ahead but a job worth doing if we really care about the well being of the arab people. DOS hypocrite don't. Hope DOD gets the job. I have come full circle. I have far more faith in our military leaders than DOS folks. Mike

I am concerned about the seeming lack of planning with regard to restoring civil order. And all of this CONTINUING in-fighting between DOD and DOS about who will be the lead agency for rebuilding Iraq should have been resolved the day the invasion started.

That's because this administration tells the public WHAT it's going to do - i.e., liberate Iraq. It doesn't say exactly HOW it's going to do it. Some stuff gets leaked but generally we don't know the details until they're good and ready to spell them out or it's obvious by their actions and results.

I am shocked at the response by liberals to the looting.

I would expect them to love the reallocation of assets to the poor...and without IRS involvement.
